Refine Skills and Focus On Your Position

The Double Play week takes our instructional approach a
step further and offers campers the opportunity to focus on positions of their choice. Campers can expect a more
individualized and focused approach to core aspects of their game, including position-specific instruction on technique
and game situations.

The Double Play Experience includes:

• Academy Coaches and Specialists: Our experienced
coaching staff encourages each camper to focus his/her skill development by position using a positive and personalized approach and proven coaching techniques. The Double Play Experience offers an increased opportunity for individualized instruction.

• Game Situations and Decision-Making: Divisional games
are played daily to give campers the opportunity to transform their instruction and practice into real game experience. Game situations enhance campers’ on-field decision-making abilities, and increase their knowledge of individual position responsibilities. Our coaching staff’s emphasis is on position work, proper execution of fundamentals, and sportsmanship.

• Developing Complete Players: At the Phillies Baseball Academy, there is more to baseball than just wins and individual statistics. Our coaching centers on sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and building self-confidence at all skill levels. We develop the all-around athlete, on and off the field.

• Weekly Highlights: Our weekly schedule also includes Home Run Derbies and Fielding and Throwing Contests. Each week culminates in a Graduation and Awards Ceremony.

Due to the unique instructional format of the Double Play Week, the visits by Phillies players and coaches are not offered.

Receive Video-Taped Analysis!

Double Play Highlights:

• Special Focus on Batting: Each camper will review a
personalized video-taped analysis of his/her batting technique at camp with our Academy coaching staff.
This evaluation will provide valuable feedback on ways to further develop and enhance skills and techniques.

• Daily Instruction by Position:
Campers ages 7-8 receive instruction in all positions. Campers ages 9-14 can choose two positions to focus on for skill development and
instructional sessions. Each camper receives team
instruction in base running, throwing, and batting.

• Increased Opportunity for Individualized Instruction

• Citizens Bank Park Tour: Your Academy experience includes a half-day trip to Citizens Bank Park. From the dugout and clubhouse, to the batting cages, and Media Room, you will receive an exclusive “behind-the-scenes” look at the Ballpark as only a select few can!

• Camper Reunion Night at Citizens Bank Park:
You will receive an invitation to reunite with fellow campers at a Phillies Game on either September 25th or 26th, 2007. All Academy Members will receive a personal invitation to participate in the traditional Phillies Baseball Academy Camper Parade on-field prior to a Phillies Game. Game tickets are available for purchase at a discounted rate for Academy Families, through a special Phillies order form.
